Terms of use
These terms are an agreement between you and Joseph Addai of Accra, Ghana ("we", "us"), who makes Atadei. They cover the Atadei app and the website atadei.app. By using Atadei you agree to them, and to the Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Atadei.
Who can use Atadei
You must be at least 13. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Atadei and to buy or gift Drops, and they accept these terms for you.
Using Atadei
Atadei is a home-screen app (launcher) for Android. You may use it on your own devices for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, modify or redistribute the app, its Drops or their artwork, get around how Drops are unlocked, or use Atadei to build a competing product.
Drops
- Free Drops (currently HIDDEN and ADAMFO) are free for as long as we offer them.
- Buying a Drop gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it on up to 3 phones signed in to your Atadei account at a time. You can remove a phone in the app to make room (up to 3 removals every 30 days). The designs, artwork, sounds and code stay ours and our artists'.
- Launch offer. The first 12 accounts to claim it get one paid Drop of their choice free, once per account. Accounts we run ourselves can't claim it. The offer ends when 12 Drops have been claimed, and we may end it earlier. A claimed Drop is yours like a bought one, except that there's nothing to refund.
- Previews. You can wear a Drop you don't own for 15 minutes, once a day per Drop. When the preview ends, your phone goes back to a Drop you own. Previews may change or end.
- The All Drops bundle unlocks every paid Drop available in the store when you buy it. Drops released later are sold separately.
- The Founder's Edition is sold for a limited time after launch. It unlocks every Drop we release, now and in the future, for as long as Atadei runs.
- Changes. We improve Drops over time, so their look and features may change. If we stop selling a Drop you bought, you keep it for as long as Atadei runs.
Payments and refunds
- Purchases are made and charged by Google Play, in your local currency, at the price shown there. Google Play's terms apply to the payment.
- Refunds. You can ask Google Play for a refund within 48 hours of buying. After 48 hours, purchases are final and we don't give refunds, except where the law requires one or Google decides to refund you.
- If something is wrong with a purchase (it didn't unlock, or you were charged twice), write to support@atadei.app and we'll fix it.
- When a purchase is refunded or charged back, whatever it unlocked is removed.
Gifts
- A gift costs the same as the Drop it's for. You can share it as a code or link, or send it straight to someone's @handle.
- A gift code works once and lasts 12 months from purchase. Unused gifts aren't refunded after Google's 48 hours, including when they expire.
- If the person already owns the Drop, they can exchange the gift for another Drop of the same or lower price.
- Gift codes have no cash value and can't be sold or swapped for money. Anyone with the code can open it, so share it only with the person it's for.
- If a gift is refunded or charged back after it was opened, the Drop is taken back from the person who received it, and we may restrict the sender's account.
- To stop guessing, trying wrong codes too many times locks gift codes on your account for a while.
Your account, @handle and messages
- You sign in with Google. Keep your Google account secure; you are responsible for what happens on your Atadei account.
- Choose a @handle that doesn't impersonate anyone, isn't offensive and doesn't infringe anyone's rights. Some handles are reserved. We may remove or change handles that break these rules.
- Gift messages must not be abusive, threatening, hateful, sexual, misleading, spam or illegal. You're responsible for what you send. We may remove messages and suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or that are used for fraud.
- You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). Deleting it permanently removes the Drops it owns, including the Founder's Edition, and they can't be restored to a new account.
Features that rely on your phone or others
- Permissions. Some features need Android permissions, such as notification access or Health Connect. They're optional and can be turned off in Android's settings; see the Privacy policy.
- CLASSIC as your phone app. Calls are placed and received through Android and your carrier. Keep another way to make calls available, and don't rely on Atadei alone in an emergency. If calling ever fails in CLASSIC, use your phone's original dialer. CLASSIC's call screen works while you own CLASSIC or are previewing it; after that, Android hands calls back to your phone's own app.
- HIDDEN keeps apps out of sight casually. It isn't a lock or a security feature; your phone's own screen lock protects your data.
- Weather, sunrise, steps, lyrics and covers come from your phone or from other services. They're for decoration and convenience, may be inaccurate or missing, and aren't for safety, medical or other important decisions.
- Other services such as Google Play, Health Connect, Open-Meteo, LRCLIB and Deezer have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.
Atadei's availability
We may update, change or stop features, and Atadei may not work on every phone or every version of Android. If we ever shut Atadei down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app. Drops already on your phone will keep working for as long as the app does, but buying and restoring Drops may stop.
No warranty
We work hard to make Atadei reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will be free of errors, work on every phone, or be available without interruption.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can't be limited, including your rights as a consumer.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Atadei at any time by uninstalling it, and delete your account as described above. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or is used for fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and we announce important changes in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Atadei after that, you accept the updated terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If you have a problem, write to support@atadei.app first and we'll try to sort it out. Otherwise, the courts of Ghana decide disputes, though you may also have the right to bring a claim where you live.
